Xbox Music To Be Revealed Along With Windows 8.1 Apps

Microsoft is boasting about the number of built-in apps for the Windows 8.1 operating system, but the Music app seems to get some important changes. A freshly designed copy of the Windows Store has revealed the latest user interface for Xbox Music. Microsoft had previously revealed to The Verge that the aim of the new music app is on playing music over surfacing new content. The notable change is that the users will be able to play the songs within two clicks rather than six.

The latest screenshots of the new Xbox Music update that are available in the Internet show a two-panel interface. This interface appears to improve the discoverability of the music and makes it very easy to quickly access a collection of songs. The Xbox Music version that was originally launched in October for the Windows 8 and Windows RT systems, has the ability to access songs from an Xbox 360 device too. Even though, this service includes the most popular songs and albums, the interface was very slow and clunky on the Windows 8 and Windows RT systems.

The updated music app aims to improve this. This has been achieved with a simplified layout and design, as per the Microsoft support center. Another important addition is a persistent in-app search box, which gives the users improved search results, Play To support for those songs that are out of the Xbox Music catalogue, and support for music files on SD storage cards.

Microsoft is also planning to add a number of built-in apps like calculator, scan, Movie Moments, Sound Recorder, Reading List, and Help and Tips. The Movie Moments app allows the users to edit videos from a touch friendly interface and the Reading List serves as a super clipboard to store links and other snippets from other applications. The Calculator, Sound Recorder and Scan apps are simplified touch-friendly versions that are aimed at replacing the legacy desktop versions. The Help and Tips area will include a number of tutorials for the new Windows 8.1 users to help them get rid of any confusion about the new interface.

Along with the Xbox Music redesign, the interface of the Windows Store has also been altered. There are many improvements in the top paid and free sections, new releases and the picks for you section. If you wish to know more on the latest changes that are made to the Windows Store and the Xbox interface, you may refer the Microsoft support forums.

Increasing The Number Of Users In Remote Desktop

The Windows XP operating system comes with a bunch of useful features, which prove to be very helpful to the users. One of these is the remote access feature. With remote access, others can connect to your system from anywhere. But you a have set limit on the number of users who can remotely access your system. What this means is that if more than the set number of users try to remotely access to your system, they will receive an error message, and will not be able to connect to it.
There’s a way you can increase the number of people who can connect to your system. This change of settings can be done easily in a small number of steps by following the below provided guidelines.

Instructions
  • In the Windows XP desktop you can see a set of icons, and at the bottom of the desktop you can see the taskbar. On the left side of the taskbar, the Start button can be seen. Click it and the Start menu will appear on screen. Among the different options in the run command, choose the Run command.
  • The run window will appear on screen, and in the blank space of the run command, type in gpedit.msc and tap the Enter key. Now the Group Policy Editor window for your system will open up.
  • The Computer Configuration icon on the left pane has to be clicked. From the list of options select Administrative Templates and choose Windows Components. Choose Terminal Services from the list of expanded options.
  • The Limit Number Of Connections option has to be double clicked and a window will open before you. The number of connections that you want to allow has to be inputted. The number of concurrent connections will be restricted to 3 if you input 3.
  • In order to save the settings, click the OK button and the Group Policy Editor window has to be closed.
