How To Fix The Error Code “Object Could Not Be Found” In Outlook 2007

Microsoft Outlook 2007 comes included with Office 2007 and is a popular email client application used by many. Other than just email management, Outlook 2007 offers a range of functions such as the Task Manager, Calendar, Notes, Journal, Contacts Manager etc. that make it stand out from the rest.
Although Outlook opens such items without any issue, the application occasionally fails to do so and displays some error messages like “Invalid XML error”, “Unable to open contact folders”, “Unable to open attachments”, and sometimes Outlook also comes up with an error message that says, "The object could not be found." Usually this error occurs when the data cache file gets corrupted. Luckily, it isn’t a mammoth task to remove the corrupted file and generate a new copy. You can easily get over this situation in a few clicks and get Outlook back to its full form within minutes.

Instructions
  • Close Outlook 2007 if it is open.
  • Now open any Windows folder on your system.
  • If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, click the Organize button at the top of the window and select Folder and Search Options. If it is Windows XP, go to the Tools menu at the top and click on Folder Options instead.
  • From the popup menu, click on the View tab.
  • Under the View tab, locate the Hidden files and folders heading. Now click on the Show hidden files and folders button and then click OK. This will reveal the hidden files on your system.
  • Now go to the Start menu and click on Computer (for Windows Vista and Windows 7), or click on My Computer if it is Windows XP.
  • Locate the C: drive and double click to open it. Now you need to open the folders in the following order. For Windows Vista/Windows 7, go to Users, then Username, and open the AppData folder. Further open the subfolders; Local, Microsoft and finally Forms. If you are using Windows XP, browse to Documents and Settings > Username > Local Settings > Application Data > Microsoft > Forms.
  • From the Forms folder, locate the file named Frmcache.dat and right-click to select Delete. When you get the prompt, click OK to confirm it.
  • Re-launch Outlook 2007 on your computer. Outlook will create a new, non-corrupt data cache file automatically when it loads.
Now that Outlook has gotten rid of the corrupted data cache file, it should no longer have issues accessing any of its components and won’t display error messages like Invalid XML or similar error codes. For more assistance, contact the Outlook Support team.
