Steps To Repair Slow Computers


“There is nothing more frustrating than a slow computer”, says Mr. David. According to him, a tech freak, virus attacks, spywares and unnecessary junk computer files present in your laptop or desktop are the main reasons why a computer’s performance may show a downward trend. Follow Mr. David’s computer fix steps to fix your issues of slow computing.

Computer repair instructions

  • Switch on your laptop or desktop. 
  • Login with the administrator profile. When prompted, enter the username and password into the corresponding fields in the login screen. 
  • Delete all the unnecessary programs. Launch the Start Menu by clicking on the Start icon located on the bottom left corner of the Home Screen Taskbar. Click on the label that reads, control panel. Switch the control panel view from category view to classic view. From the icons listed down in the control panel window, select the label that reads Programs and Features. Right click on the programs that you want to remove from your computer and from the toolbar attached to your browser. Hit the Uninstall option from the dropdown. This will remove all the unwanted programs and features from the disk and will make the computer run faster. 
  • Launch the Start Menu once again by clicking on the Start icon located on the bottom left corner of the Home Screen Taskbar. Right click on the label All Programs and then run the Disk Cleanup software to remove all the unnecessary programs. Hit the label System Tools and then run the Disk Cleanup or antivirus and malware software to remove the malicious file codes running in the background. Malwares, spywares and adware can compromise your system and can contaminate your desktop and browser with advertisements and popup.
  • Remove all the temporary Internet files, Java applets and the Recycle bin data. To remove the temporary files, hit the Start Menu search space with the keyword RUN. Enter %temp% into the empty search field in the RUN dialogue box and hit Enter. Delete all the temporary files popping up. 
  • Launch the Start Menu once again by clicking on the Start icon located on the bottom left corner of the Home Screen Taskbar. Hit the Start Menu search space with the keyword RUN. Enter msconfig into the search space and then hit the Startup tab. Uncheck all the processes you do not want to load at startup.
  • Run the Disk Defragmenter. The Disk Defragmenter software will remove all the files and data that are compromising the computing speed.
