Enable Cookie Support For Internet Explorer 7

When you browse the internet using Internet Explorer 7 or some other web browsers, bits of browsing information like the login name, browsing habits etc are stored in a special folder called the cookies folder. These cookies let your web browser to quickly load your frequently visited web pages, thereby giving you a faster browsing experience. Whenever you access a website, the web browser will automatically download these cookies to your computer. It also has the option to reject these cookies from being downloaded, or to prompt you to manually accept or block them. While it is better to block questionable sites that may contain spyware, some sites such as online shopping sites require accepting the cookie in order to properly view the site. In Internet Explorer 7, the cookie settings are adjustable, to improve your browsing experience. The following IT support guidelines for Internet Explorer will let you enable cookie support for IE7.

Instructions
  • First, you need to launch Internet Explorer on your computer. To do this, click on the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop's task bar, or go to the Start menu, and then select All Programs and further click on Internet Now go to the Tools menu at the top of the Internet Explorer window, and choose Internet Options.
  • This will bring up the Internet Options window. Click on the Privacy tab on the Internet Options window. Go to the Settings section and click on Advanced button to access the cookie settings.
  • Here you will see the option to edit the cookie settings. Locate the option Override Automatic Cookie Handling and select the checkbox next to it. Select the circle next to Accept in the First-Party Cookies section. Click the circle next to Prompt in the Third-Party Cookies section to configure IE7 to prompt you prior to downloading the site's cookie. Third-party cookies are sent from sites not accessed by you, but connected to the currently displayed site.
