How To Remove An Administrator Password In Windows XP Operating System?


Microsoft included a User Account Control feature in almost all versions of Windows operating systems. By using this feature you can password protect your system to avoid unauthorized access. You have to provide the administrator username and password to login to your system. No doubt this is an outstanding feature which helps computer users to protect their data. But the problem is that, sometimes you may lose or forget the administrator password, making you unable to access your system. If the situation is in Windows XP operating system, then you can easily delete or edit your Administrator password, since Microsoft included a feature in Windows XP to edit or remove administrator password without knowing the current password. How to remove the Administrator Password?
Start off with inserting Windows XP installation disk into your DVD ROM.
Press any key on your keyboard when prompted to boot from the CD. Now Windows XP automatically boot from the CD.
Now you need to trigger the enter key to open the windows setup page.
Now click the R key on your keyboard to open the XP Repair tool. Now Windows XP Repair process gets started and the entire files are copied to your hard disk drive.
Now reboot your system normally.
Once the booting is finished, you can see a message displaying Installing devices… in the bottom left of your screen. Now Press and hold the shift+F10 Keys to launch the command window.
Now type NUSRMGR.CPL in the command prompt window followed by pressing the enter switch to run the command. This opens up the user account settings page.
Select the administrator account option from the displayed accounts list.
Now press the change the password option to launch the password dialogue box.
Input your current password in the first field.
For removing the password, just leave the second and third password fields blank.
When done, trigger the close button to save the changes and exit out the Password dialogue window. Wait till the Windows XP repair process gets completed.
